PANDORA​

​​​​​​​​​Theater De Spiegel creates art in all forms for the very young (0-4 years). With a mix of music, theater, images, objects, dance and technology, they invite them to explore new worlds, look, listen and play differently. The various Pret-à-Porter (PAP) bags are very versatile. The contents of one bag lend themselves better to a larger audience, while another comes into its own in an intimate quiet setting.

Theater De Spiegel asked Trappeniers to translate his adult artistic imagery into a work that fits into a typical black food delivery courier bag around the theme “Robotics.” Under the name “Organic-Mechanic-Robotic”, Trappeniers made a performance that focused on mechanics and robots, while still being analogue. Pandora tells the hopeful tale of a world in distress because of climate change. Man versus machine, object versus subject, for centuries artists and theater-makers have pondered this contradiction. For figure theater, too, the contradiction is a rewarding subject. From a courier bag, a performer magically creates a theatrical setting. Seemingly out of nowhere, a tiny fantasy world emerges step by step in which the young audience is taken on a journey of discovery. Exciting, challenging, unforgettable and close-by.
